Fatal road accidents dropped in 2012
LAST YEAR saw a large fall in the number of fatal road accidents on the island, the second biggest fall in percentage rates in the EU according to statistics released by the European Commission.The number of fatal accidents in Cyprus in 2012 came to 59 per million residents compared to 85 per million in 2011. That is a decrease of 28 per cent which is the second highest decrease after Malta which recorded a 48 per cent decrease.
