Clerides tight-lipped on Tsalikidis
ATTORNEY-GENERAL, Petros Clerides, yesterday refused to answer a question on whether he had authorised the issuance of a European arrest warrant for former National Guard chief Petros Tsalikidis, who had previously failed to show up before Larnaca district court in relation to last July’s blast at Mari.An arrest warrant – valid only in Cyprus – was issued for Tsalikidis after he had failed to show up for a routine referral. As a response, Larnaca court postponed the hearing until May 18. A Greek national – Tsalikidis – currently resides in Greece and his arrest warrant needs to be converted to a European arrest warrant before he can be extradited to Cyprus. ... Read on
