Oil companies raise prices again

CyprusEKO and Exxon Mobil, two of the major petroleum corporations active on the island raised their prices yesterday with the remaining companies, Lukoil and Petrolina, expected to follow suit.
Eko raised the price at which it sold 98 petrol at by 3.3 cents, 95 by 2.7 cents and diesel by 2.1 cents.
Exxon Mobil, who run the Esso petrol stations, raised its prices on 98 petrol by 2.2 cents, 95 by 2.7 cents, diesel by 2.2 cents and heating kerosene by 2.5 cents.
International crude prices continued their 25-day rise yesterday with the UK Brent index trading at US$80.10 per barrel with the US index standing at US$78.56 per barrel.

It's up the public to react but here we don't walk or ride 20m to anywhere. It's essential for most people to go to work and fetch kids by car but if we take a stand and reduce our car usage as much as possible apart from the above activities, if only to prove a point, decreased fuel sales will surely wake the companies up. A little inconvenience could hurt their pockets sufficiently to warrant a re-think from his money-mad lot.

The Supermartkets should be allowed to sell Petrol as in the UK, this brings prices down. There is a total monopoly of fuel companies in Cyprus. It should be refered to the E. u.
