CyprusPOLICE in Limassol have arrested a Russian man, wanted in connection with investigations on the fraudulent withdrawal of $68,300 from a corporate bank account.
The man has been wanted since September 13, when he visited a local bank and under false pretences withdrew the money from the account of a Moscow-headquartered company with offices in Limassol. The bank informed the company’s accountant of the transaction, who immediately reported the incident to the police.
The suspect told police that he was not in possession of the money, which he passed on to a second Russian man, whose whereabouts are presently unknown. Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the second suspect.
