Tell the tourists to bring some water with them
Sir,
I have been reading with interest the articles about the water cuts in Cyprus.
We are tourists, who have been coming to Cyprus for 20 years and there was always a problem with the water.
But our opinion is that your government has failed to draw up strict rules to use water and control it. On your island, they built golf courses, which need a huge amount of water. More and more hotels were built. Do you need such places that are bringing in more and more tourists? Does anybody think that all these people need water?
How often we saw tourists who had a shower and did not close the tap after the shower. There must be staff to control it and say it in a polite way, ‘please be so kind to close the tap as we have water problems on our island’.
Also I was reading that the CTO is in contact with easyJet and Ryanair so that they can fly to Cyprus and bring more tourists.
Has the CTO told them to bring water with them to enjoy their holidays?
