Kids, meet inspiring Kelvin Doe, also known as D.J. Focus.

Kelvin grew up in Sierra Leone, a small country in West Africa. By the age of 13, he had become a self-taught engineer, and used discarded scrap metal, electrical parts and other items he found to create electric generators for his community.

Then, at 15, Kelvin created his own radio station, again using electronic scraps that he would find while searching trash dump sites near his home, and from which he broadcast music and news to his community under the pseudonym “D.J. Focus.”

Kelvin went on to become the youngest Visiting Practitioner at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the age of 16. He continues to inspire us all!
