The health ministry announced that its officials carried out 1,313 checks at businesses from Monday to Friday last week to ensure that coronavirus protocols are being adhered to.

Along with the businesses, 5,479 employees were also checked and a total of four were fined.

The ministry on Monday said that the results indicate that the vast majority of businesses are complying with the measures.

The checks were as follows: 160 barbers/hairdressers (256 workers), 54 beauticians (74 workers), 252 supermarkets (1,334 workers), 192 kiosks (403 workers) and 655 food outlets (3,412 workers).
