A fire that broke out in the early hours of Tuesday caused extensive damage to a betting shop in Strovolos, NIcosia.

The fire brigade was called to extinguish the fire at 3.15am. Once at the scene, two fire trucks managed to put it out in 25 minutes.

The fire and the smoke caused extensive damage to both the betting shop’s walls and the equipment inside the premises.

The causes of the fire are still unknown, according to an announcement released by the fire brigade.

In the last 24 hours, firemen responded to 31 calls for help and 23 reported fires.
