The camping sites at Platania and Stavros tis Psokas are reopening on Saturday on the basis of new, updated guidelines from the health ministry to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the forestry department said on Friday.
The Kampi tou Kalogirou camping site will remain closed because of improvement work underway there.
The department urged all campers to comply with the rules. These include a stipulation that there must be a minimum four metre distance between tents or caravans belonging to different groups. Campers should avoid congestion, have their own items of personal hygiene (soap, towels etc) which most not be shared and must wear masks where required by health ministry protocols.
Restaurants or swimming pools on site must adhere to the relevant rules while those in charge of the facility must keep records of all employees and the days they worked at the camping site.
