Here at Good Living, we like to mark the end of the working week with a TGIF recipe… A little note of indulgence with which to treat yourself over the weekend, hopefully catching your breath as you cook, bake or mix something that’s a tiny celebration.

In this video, Cara Devine, host of the Behind the Bar YouTube channel, presents the zingy magic of the Whiskey Sour – get it right, and summer night drinks will hum with a brand new vibe.

The Whiskey Sour is a mixed drink containing whiskey (often bourbon), lemon juice, sugar and, optionally, a dash of egg white or cocktails foamer. With the egg white, it is sometimes called a Boston Sour; with a few bar spoons of full-bodied red wine floated on top, it is often referred to as a New York Sour.

The Whiskey Sour is shaken and served either straight up or over ice.

Try it out at the first – responsible – opportunity. Perhaps as soon as this weekend?
