The health ministry announced 2,241 new cases of Covid-19 but no deaths on Tuesday.
As there were no deaths, the total death toll remains 630, of whom 402 were men and 227 women.
There are 168 people being treated for coronavirus in hospitals, 84 of whom are in serious condition. Of the 84 patients, 27 are intubated, eight are in the ICU without a ventilator and 49 in a High Dependency Unit.
Of all patients, 80.96 per cent are not vaccinated against Covid.
Fifteen post-Covid patients who are no longer infectious are still intubated in the ICU.
A total of 98,047 PCR and rapid antigen tests were carried out on Tuesday, giving a positivity rate of 2.29 per cent.
Of the tests, 11,803 were PCR and 86,244 rapid tests.
The majority, 1,046 of the 2,241 cases, came from 60,052 rapid tests performed at private labs and pharmacies, with 483 more found out of 26,192 tests performed at health ministry testing sites.
A total of 389 cases came from 4,068 samples taken through private initiative, while 1,671 samples taken through contacts of already confirmed cases turned up 220 positives.
Twenty-six cases were found among 366 samples processed by hospital labs while 55 samples taken through GP referrals yielded one positive.
In addition, 5,643 samples were taken at airports with 76 positives.
The total number of positives to date is 154,926
