Over 10,500 new voters registered on electoral rolls for the 2023 presidential elections between October 3 and the December 27 deadline, chief returning officer Costas Constantinou said on Wednesday.

In a written statement, Constantinou said that in the last quarter, a total of 10,558 applications were submitted for first registration in the electoral roll, 1,728 of whom were submitted online.

During the same period, from October 3 to the cutoff point this past Tuesday, 10,737 people applied to vote from abroad. This includes people living in various areas in Greece (Athens, Volos, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Komotini, Larissa, Patras, Rethymno) and the UK (Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol), as well as Berlin, Vienna, Brussels, New York, Dubai, Luxembourg, Paris, Sofia, Stockholm, and the Hague.

The statement explained that those wishing to vote from any other area not mentioned above are welcome to declare their interest by January 5 if they want to vote at any of the above cities.

They can do so by submitting their Name, ID number, original city of declaration and new city of declaration to the interior ministry at [email protected] , or by fax to 22678486.

It was also noted that those who do not submit a new declaration will remain registered in the electoral roll in Cyprus.
