President Nikos Christodoulides and first lady Philippa Karsera depart for Paris on Friday to attend the opening of the Olympic Games, at the invitation of the President of France Emmanuel Macron.

The president and his wife will attend a reception hosted by the French president and the international Olympic committee and then attend the opening ceremony of the games.

On Saturday, Christodoulides will attend events in which Cypriot athletes are to participate and in the evening the couple will attend a reception hosted by the Cyprus ambassador in France in honour of Cyprus national Olympic team.

The president will attend competitions in which Cypriot athletes participate on Sunday and visit the Olympic Village.

He will return to Cyprus on Monday afternoon.
