Employment in Cyprus experienced a 2.2 per cent increase in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
According to data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) on Friday, employment reached a total of 507,323 people during this period.
Of these, 454,850 individuals were employees, while 52,473 were self-employed.
The most significant percentage increases in employment were recorded in the arts, entertainment and recreation, accommodation and food service activities, and information and communication sectors.
Meanwhile, the total actual hours worked during the third quarter of 2024 were estimated at 230.18 million, representing a 2.6 per cent rise compared to the same quarter in 2023.
