Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos will meet with his British counterpart David Lammy over a working breakfast in London on Tuesday.

Discussions are set to focus on Cyprus-UK relations, the Cyprus issue, and unfolding developments in the Middle East.

An official statement said that after the meeting, the 2nd Cyprus-UK Strategic Dialogue will take place in the presence of enlarged delegations of the two countries. The Cyprus delegation will be led by the foreign ministry’s director general, ambassador Andreas Kakouris.

During his stay in London, the foreign minister will also address the expatriate community at a meeting to be held in the afternoon.

On Monday, the Cypriot foreign minister presented a non-paper co-submitted with Greece and Austria in Brussels, calling on the EU to appoint a special envoy to Syria and use frozen Assad-era assets for reconstruction. Urging EU to take a proactive role in Syria’s future, he stressed the need for an inclusive transition of power that protects minority rights.
