The end of January 2025 is a special time in the sky as a series of planets align. All those fascinated by the stars, the planets and the universe – whether from a science perspective or an astrology perspective – have lots to look forward to this season. To celebrate the occasion, 1010 Cosmos organises a special event this Friday in Nicosia offering free astronomy for all.
Opening the doors at ARTos Cultural and Research House at 6pm, visitors are invited to observe the Planetary Parade happening in the evening sky with telescopes. The evening will begin with free screenings of the film Unveiling the Invisible Universe, which is in English and will include subtitles in Greek.
The screening will be on at multiple times. First at 6pm, then at 6.45pm, 7.30pm and 8.15pm. At the same time, telescopes will be set up around the venue for visitors to see the planets up close and experience the ‘planetary parade’. Astronomers will be present to guide viewers and answer space, stars and planet-related questions.
The one-off event is held under the CARES: Cyprus Awareness Raising and Education Study programme, sponsored by the European Space Agency and best of all, has free entrance, snacks and drinks for the planet-curious visitors attending.
