The next free event as part of the Nicosia Walk series is scheduled for March 9 and places its focus on climate and the environment. A collaboration between AHDR, Home for Cooperation, Cyprus Energy Agency and Climate Pact, the walk invites English speakers to join the event and discover more about the history and future of nature and the city.
As with all of the walks of the series, this too will start and end at the Home for Cooperation at 10.30am. The two-hour walk will show participants glimpses of the city’s landscapes and climate issues.
“Is our city getting too hot to handle?” ask the organisers when describing their event. “Should we fear the bloody river (Kanlıdere/Pediaios)? Our journey will uncover ancient wisdom, take us to secret oases, and help us imagine (and create) the city of our dreams.”
The walk will be facilitated by Myrto Skouroupathi and Vijdan Sengor, taking people on a specific route that ends at 12.30 back at the Home. Although free of charge, online registrations via the Home for Cooperation’s website are necessary as spots are limited.
