The police evacuated Larnaca district court on Thursday morning, after receiving a telephone call about a bomb in the building, however investigations did not produce anything out of the ordinary.

Larnaca police spokesman Spyros Chrysostomou said that the phone call was received at 9am, setting protocols in motion.

“The courthouse has been evacuated and Larnaca police pyrotechnicians and officers have begun investigations. The protocol for relevant incidents will be observed,” he added.

Investigations were wrapped up at 10.30am, people were let back into the building and court proceedings resumed.

Chrysostomou said the police would now investigate the phone call.
