A spell of high pressure has settled over the region, setting the stage for a significant rise in temperatures across Cyprus starting tomorrow, as a warm air mass begins to make its way across the island.
Tuesday’s weather remains mostly clear, though some low cloud may linger along coastal areas during the morning hours. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest at light to moderate strength, between 3 to 4 Beaufort. By the afternoon, winds could strengthen to 5 Beaufort along southern and eastern shores. In central inland areas, winds may begin as variable and weak, around 3 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures are expected to reach 29C inland, 28C along the northern coast, 26C in the southeast and eastern coasts, 24C in the remaining coastal areas, and around 20C in the higher mountain regions.
Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear, though low cloud could develop in some eastern areas later. Winds will shift slightly, blowing from the southwest to northwest and occasionally from the northeast, remaining light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 12C inland, 14C in southern and eastern coastal areas, 15C elsewhere along the coast, and 10C in the mountains.
Looking ahead, Wednesday through Friday is expected to remain mainly clear. However, on Thursday, patches of medium and high cloud will appear at times. From Wednesday evening onwards, light dust will begin to drift into the atmosphere.
Temperatures will rise steadily through the week, climbing noticeably above the seasonal average by Friday.
