The Blazing Dish Towels of Camille and Nikita: A Textile Art Explosion Between Kitsch, Pop Culture and Visual Alchemy. This is the title of an exhibition opening this week in Nicosia. Actually, its full title is UFO: Robots Attack, The Blazing Dish Towels of Camille and Nikita: A Textile Art Explosion Between Kitsch, Pop Culture and Visual Alchemy.
From Friday to May 17, the French embassy and the French Institute of Cyprus, in collaboration with IsnotGallery, will present an exhibition which features four-handed artistic creation. The Franco-Ukrainian artists have been invited to create specifically for the showcase.
Camille Sagnes and Nikita Kravtsov form a unique artistic duo. Their bold and singular approach is rooted in the reinvention of popular household textiles, specifically decorative dish towels. These everyday kitchen items are transformed through their collaborative work into striking, subversive and poetic pieces of art.
Their work will be presented in Cyprus for the first time at the acclaimed IsnotGallery, a space known for its bold curatorial choices and run by an artist-director with a deep understanding of creative processes. This colourful, expressive environment gives Camille and Nikita’s creations the context they deserve where their artistic vision resonates with clarity and impact.
