A 52-year-old suspect who had a European arrest warrant from Spain pending against him was arrested by Larnaca police overnight.

Police arrested him at the airport during a passport check after his arrival. According to police, the man is suspected of theft and robbery from a residence, committed between 2003 and 2005.

He is expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court for the start of his extradition proceedings on Friday.

The Larnaca CID is furthering the investigation.
