Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou announced the reactivation of the housing plan for families enclaved in the north after Wednesday’s cabinet meeting.

The plan provides for grants reaching €15,000 to build or extend a house in Rizokarpaso.

Ioannou said a total of 34 households benefited from the scheme during the 2021-2023 period with the state’s total financial contribution reaching €438,500.

The decision to reactivate the plan was taken to support Greek Cypriots in the north.

To this end, €400,000 has been included in the ministry’s budget for 2025.

Applications for grants can be submitted to the office of the head of Humanitarian Affairs.

Ioannou said that, although the current scheme was solely addressed to Rizokarpaso residents, it could be extended in the future to include other areas.
