A 93-year-old man is said to be in a serious condition after the car he was driving collided with a car being driven by a 23-year-old woman on Sunday morning.
The police said the incident occurred in the Larnaca district village of Xylophagou at around 7.15am.
After the collision, the police said, the man was taken by ambulance to the Famagusta district hospital in Paralimni, where it was found that he had “suffered a head injury” and that he had suffered a broken collarbone.
Doctors described his condition as “serious”.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old woman was arrested after a “small amount” of crystal meth was found in her car, while a preliminary drug test returned a positive result.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
