Eurobank Research has retained the top spot for overall macroeconomic forecasts for Greece for the second consecutive year.

This year, the bank has also achieved first place in Cyprus for the first time, according to the 2025 Focus Economics Analyst Forecast Awards.

Eurobank Research, the Economic Analysis and Research Unit of Eurobank, has been recognised for its consistency and scientific rigour, ranking among the top forecasters across all key markets it monitors.

The unit also secured high placements for its forecasts for Bulgaria and China.

Under the leadership of Eurobank Group’s Chief Economist, Tasos Anastasatos, the team stood out among international investment and banking institutions, credit rating agencies, insurance companies and systemic banks.

“This recognition confirms Eurobank’s ongoing commitment to providing well-documented and reliable macroeconomic analysis,” said Anastasatos.

According to this year’s Focus Economics results, a leading provider of economic analysis for 198 countries, Eurobank Research achieved several distinctions.

In Greece, Eurobank Research secured first place for overall macroeconomic forecasts for the second year running, marking a significant milestone in the history of the awards.

The team ranked third in GDP forecasts and second in inflation forecasts.

In Cyprus, the unit attained first place overall in macroeconomic forecasts, marking its debut at the top and confirming the growing strength of its forecasting capabilities.

It came second in GDP forecasts and first in fiscal balance projections.

For Bulgaria, Eurobank Research achieved third place for fiscal balance forecasts, reflecting its deep understanding of the country’s economy, which is of particular interest to the bank.

In China, Eurobank Research also took third place in fiscal balance forecasting, a noteworthy accomplishment for a Greek bank.

This placement highlights Eurobank’s ability to compete with major international institutions and strengthens the bank’s global economic analysis presence.

The Focus Economics Analyst Forecast Awards recognise the accuracy of economic forecasts annually across six major macroeconomic indicators.

These include GDP, fiscal balance, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates and current account balance.
