Two billboards have been placed along the motorway: one in the direction from Paphos to Limassol, and the other serving routes from Nicosia, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Protaras towards Limassol. These billboards symbolically depict the 42.2-kilometre distance to the heart of Limassol, specifically the starting point of the XM Limassol Marathon on the Molos Promenade.
In this way, the marathon route has been transformed into a feeling and an experience. The billboards are accompanied by the message: “You are one marathon away from Limassol — Can you run it?”
Via this imaginative approach, now every driver, visitor or tourist heading towards the city is taking part in an immersive warm-up for the 2026 running event. Drawing closer via imagination to the challenge and dedication of the runners, experiencing the distance through a new, emotional lens.
“Through this creative concept, we want people to understand what it means to run 42.2 kilometres. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. To recognise the effort of every runner and connect with it, even if only for a moment,” noted Constantina Stylianou, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Events at XM.
In 2026, the XM Limassol Marathon will return with renewed momentum, featuring more runners, more experiences and the steady support of XM.
Runners to contribute to worthy cause
As part of the XM Limassol Marathon’s social mission, next year’s event will further embraces the spirit of solidarity. In keeping with its commitment to social contribution, each participant will have the option, during registration, to add a small symbolic donation to their entry fee. This amount will be allocated in full to support a non-profit organisation working with vulnerable groups in Cyprus. A small act from each of us can make a significant difference for many.
Through this initiative, the XM Limassol Marathon is set to strengthen its position as a major platform for giving, actively promoting the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility with the participation of the entire running community.
Next spring, the XM Limassol Marathon looks forward to welcoming all runners over March 21–22, 2026.
