Summer schools are banned from national parks for a second year running because the groups were making a nuisance of themselves and potentially harming the environment.

The Forestry Department also said in a press release that the summer school activities also deviated from its policy not to allow business activities in the parks.

The head offices of summer schools are thus urged to apply to the department in writing for permission to organise day-long trips to the parks.

Forestry Department sources told the Cyprus Mail that they wanted to avoid the nuisance caused by such visits and maintain safety in all parks.
