Public sector trade unions reaffirmed their determination on Tuesday that the cost-of-living allowance should be paid in full to civil servants, including teachers and the military.
The meeting took place at Pasydy headquarters in Nicosia and all participating trade unions said the highest possible CoLA should be extended to businesses in the private sector, wherever it is not in place.
Any remarks made publicly for the need to modernise CoLA aimed at undermining it, they added.
The trade unions also touched upon tax reforms and expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that they had not been included in the social dialogue.
They agreed to meet soon to evaluate developments, with the aim of agreeing on positions and undertaking action in unison.
