The Bank of Cyprus Running Team is particularly proud to have surpassed the €150,000 milestone in support of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, aiding patients and their families. Since its establishment in 2017, the Running Team has raised a total of €150,290.
This year’s contribution of €19,549 was formally presented during a special ceremony, at which team representative Laura Michailidou expressed satisfaction at their having raised the fundraising bar. “We are especially pleased that this year we not only met our target, but also exceeded the €150,000 milestone,” she noted. “This success is the result of our team members’ dedication and passion, as well as the support of our colleagues, friends and partners.”
The Bank of Cyprus Running Team is made up of volunteer employees who participate in races both in Cyprus and abroad, raising funds for the Anti-Cancer Society. In 2024, the team took part in the 39th Budapest Marathon (10 km and 42.2 km distances) and the 41st Athens Authentic Marathon (5 km, 10 km and 42.2 km distances), achieving a significant rise in contributions.
Yiannis Ioannou, Director of the Office of the CEO & Human Resources of the Bank of Cyprus, placed the spotlight on the values behind the fundraising efforts. “The Bank of Cyprus continues to support the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society actively, promoting the values of volunteerism, philanthropy and social responsibility,” he said. “This collaboration is not merely the transfer of funds, but a tangible expression of love and support for our fellow human beings in need.”
The Bank extends its sincere thanks to all members of the Running Team, as well as to all supporters and donors, for their invaluable contribution to the achievement of this important goal.
