Temperatures inland will be breaking the 40C barrier on Tuesday and the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning.

The department said on Monday that the warning will be in place from noon till 7pm on Tuesday.

Maximum temperatures inland are expected to reach 41C and 33C in the highest mountains.
