More than 50 flights at Larnaca and Paphos airports will be affected by the three-hour strike on Thursday, Hermes Airports told the Cyprus News Agency on Wednesday.

A representative said that “due to the strike which will take place between 11am and 2pm, more than 50 arrival and departure flights will be impacted, as well as over 15,000 passengers”.

According to the representative, the airlines are rescheduling the affected flights and passengers will be informed accordingly.

“Travellers are advised to contact the airline, travel agents or ground handling companies directly to inquire about the new departure or arrival time of their flight,” they said.

The representative concluded that as soon as the rescheduling of flights is completed, relevant information will be posted online on the home page of the Hermes Airports website.

The general strike will affect all sectors, both public and private, and was called by unions after a failure to reach agreement on payment of the Cost of Living Allowance.
