Alpha Bank Cyprus took part in this year’s Movember campaign, an awareness month for men’s health, at the bank’s headquarters in Nicosia, according to an official announcement.
“The bank’s involvement this year aimed to support Movember Cyprus in spreading the message of early diagnosis and care for men’s health, demonstrating consistency and practical commitment to prevention and disseminating information,” the bank said.
“This year’s action carried particular significance, marking the first joint participation of the bank’s expanded workforce following the completion of the integration of former AstroBank staff,” the announcement added.
“This participation highlighted the new unity, cohesion, and dynamic that now characterises Alpha Bank Cyprus,” the bank explained.
As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, a “Shave-off” event was held.
The MAN-VAN, Movember Cyprus’ specially designed mobile barber shop, was parked outside the bank, where professional barbers shaved members of the staff.
Participation in the “Shave-off” was a symbolic act of awareness and team spirit, through which the bank’s personnel sent a message of support to those battling prostate cancer.
“Every year, our participation in Movember is a reminder that health care starts with information and prevention,” marketing and public relations director of Alpha Bank Cyprus, Elena Constantinou Riri, said.
“This year, with the strength of our united team, we continued this beautiful tradition with an even greater impact, proving that, when people share a common purpose, they can make a difference,” she added.
“By its presence in the Movember campaign, Alpha Bank Cyprus reiterated the message that prevention saves lives and that raising men’s health awareness is everyone’s business,” the announcement concluded.
