A 2,000-cubic-metre water tank in Limassol’s Sykaminou area is now operational, while three more across the district are expected to be completed next year, the Limassol district government organisation (EOA) said on Monday.
The Sykaminou tank, located in Ayios Athanasios, has been fully commissioned, with both chambers in operation, while only minor external works such as landscaping of the surrounding area remain and are to be completed during the maintenance and defects period.
In Polemidia, a second tank of the same capacity is expected to be completed by March 15, 2026, with construction of the frame finished and work now focused on installing external piping and hydraulic components.
A larger installation in Germasoyia is progressing along a similar timeline, with a 4,000-cubic-metre tank due for completion on May 16, 2026, and currently in the same installation phase.
In Ayia Fyla, work on an 800-cubic-metre tank has moved into the installation phase following the demolition of two older tanks and the completion of the new structure, ahead of its scheduled completion on May 16, 2026.
