A car caught fire in Limassol on Friday night.

According to the fire brigade, the car had been parked in the city’s Omonia neighbourhood and caught fire shortly before 9pm.

Two fire engines were mobilised to extinguish the fire, with the vehicle’s engine compartment suffering “extensive damage” as a result.

A subsequent investigation found that the fire had been caused by a short circuit.
