The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) in Cyprus, in collaboration with the Agrifood and Digitalisation Sector Groups, will host an introductory webinar on February 10, 2025, to present the agrifood Testing and Experimentation Facility (agrifoodTEF).
The session, which was announced by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve), the coordinator of EEN in Cyprus, will take place online via MS Teams between 12:00 and 13:30.
The agrifoodTEF project is a flagship European initiative funded under the Digital Europe Programme that provides specialised infrastructure for testing and validating new technologies in real-life conditions.
It offers services for testing and experimentation in real-world conditions for new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and automation.
Through a network of nine hubs across Europe and over 300 available services, businesses can validate innovative technologies in a real environment.
Participating firms can use these facilities to reduce both technical and regulatory risks before entering the market.
These services allow companies to prepare for upcoming requirements, such as the EU AI Act, which will govern how data-driven solutions are implemented.
One of the most significant advantages for small and medium-sized enterprises is the financial support available, as the initiative provides at least 80 per cent public funding.
This support allows businesses to significantly reduce innovation costs while benefiting from European expertise.
During the webinar, participants will be informed about the concept of TEFs and the European agrifoodTEF network specifically.
The event will also present the core services and technical knowledge available to participating companies.
Attendees will hear practical examples of collaborations from TEF partners and learn how EEN consultants and businesses can get involved directly.
The webinar is primarily targeted at agrifood and agritech SMEs that are currently developing or considering the use of data-driven applications.
This includes businesses focusing on precision agriculture, food processing automation, and any firm looking to integrate robotics into their operational workflow.
A dedicated questions and answers session will follow the main presentation to allow for direct interaction.
EEN Cyprus, through the coordination of Keve, continues to support the digital transformation of the local agricultural sector through these international networks.
