A Nicosia-based microbrewery has secured major international recognition after winning two top awards at a leading European beer competition.
Golem Brewhouse was awarded a Diamond Medal for its Mosaic NEIPA and a Gold Medal for its IPA at the Czech Brew Star competition held in Brno.
The event, judged through blind tastings by industry experts, featured hundreds of entries, with 17 Diamond and 15 Gold medals awarded.
The judges praised the Mosaic NEIPA for its “exceptional quality and sensory excellence”, while the IPA was recognised for its “perfect harmony of taste and aroma”.
Founder and brewer Michal Stourac described the achievement as a significant milestone for the small Nicosia-based team.

“Winning diamond and gold in the Czech Republic, a country with a long brewing tradition, is an incredible honour,” he said.
“These awards are all about what’s in the glass.”
He added that the recognition extends beyond the brewery itself.
“It’s an exciting moment not just for us, but for our Cypriot fans.”
Located in the old city, Golem Brewhouse has built an esteemed reputation for precision brewing and is part of Cyprus’ growing craft beer scene.
Its award-winning beers are available at its taproom and selected venues across the island.
