The met office issued a yellow warning on Tuesday for storms, hail and strong winds, which will be in effect from 9.00 pm tonight until 6.00pm tomorrow.
Authorities said conditions indicate isolated strong storms ahead, affecting Limassol and Larnaca tonight and tomorrow morning, before spreading to Troodos and Nicosia during midday and afternoon.
Heavy rainfall is expected throughout with hail possible in Troodos.
“Isolated strong storms are expected to affect the island, with the greatest intensity in Troodos and Nicosia after noon,” the statement said.
Residents are advised to take precautions, particularly in exposed locations, and to secure outdoor objects.
The met office further urged drivers to exercise caution, as heavy rainfall and strong winds could create hazardous conditions on roads.
The warning follows previous unsettled weather over the past week, with similar storms causing localised flooding and travel disruptions.
