Police in Paphos are investigating a suspected case of vehicle arson after a fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to initial reports, the blaze erupted at around 3.30am in a car belonging to a 35-year-old man, which was parked in a village in the Paphos district.

Fire brigade members arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, but the vehicle was destroyed.

Examinations carried out at the scene later in the morning indicated that the fire had been set deliberately.
