The fire brigade will hold a training exercise will take place in Larnaca on Wednesday as part of efforts to enhance operational readiness.

The drill – involving firefighting and rescue from a multi-storey building – will be carried out between 10am and 12pm by fire stations of the Larnaca district.

The exercise will be held at the Althea building on Engomi street, an 11-floor tower located 220 metres from Mackenzie beach.

Authorities said there will be increased movement of fire service vehicles in the area during the exercise and stressed that there is no cause for concern for the public.
