ERB Asfalistiki on Wednesday announced that it has bolstered the training capabilities of the Cyprus Fire Service by delivering a fire safety training simulator, marking the 25th consecutive year of its partnership with the service during Fire Safety Week 2026.
“Let’s not leave our dreams turn into ashes!” was set as the central message of this year’s public awareness campaign, highlighting the importance of fire safety and prevention measures.
The initiative, held from April 20, 2026 to April 26, 2026, is taking place under the auspices of Justice Minister Costas Fytiris, reinforcing its national significance.
The launch of the week’s activities was marked by a press conference held at the headquarters of ERB Cyprus Insurance Holdings, bringing together key stakeholders.
Addressing the event were the Justice Minister, Chief Fire Officer Nicos Logginos, the CEO of ERB Insurance Holdings Group Takis Phidia, and the General Manager of ERB Asfalistiki Andreas C. Stylianou.
As part of the initiative, ERB Asfalistiki delivered a second fire safety training simulator to the Cyprus Fire Service, identified as the Attack Digital Fire Training Panel.
This follows the earlier delivery of the Intelligent System Training simulator on March 23, 2026, further strengthening training capabilities.
The combined value of the two firefighting simulation systems exceeds €40,000, reflecting continued investment in safety infrastructure.
These modern systems are designed to provide realistic training for both newly recruited firefighters and members of the public, while maintaining a low environmental impact.
A key highlight of the week will be the Open Day event scheduled for April 25, 2026, which will take place in front of the Medieval Castle of Paphos.
The event, running from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, will allow visitors to explore fire service vehicles and equipment and receive practical guidance on fire safety.
Children attending the event will also have access to specially designed activities and entertainment, including performances such as a stilt walker.
The event will also be broadcast live on the radio, expanding its reach to a wider audience across Cyprus.
Representatives from both ERB Asfalistiki and the Cyprus Fire Service will be present throughout the day to provide information on fire prevention measures and distribute symbolic gifts to attendees.
