The Nicosia to Larnaca highway reopened at around noon on Friday after it had earlier been closed due to a fire at the side of the road.

Both lanes towards Larnaca were closed after a fire broke out in trees near the Kosi exit, police said.

Firefighters tackled the blaze.

Drivers heading to Larnaca were diverted via the Lympia exit onto the old Nicosia-Larnaca road.
