Consumers in Cyprus remain largely satisfied with their mobile phone services, although more are reporting connection problems and dissatisfaction with the way complaints are handled, a survey published on Friday by the communication commission showed.
The survey found overall satisfaction with mobile services remained high, while perceptions of value for money improved slightly compared to last year.
Cost remains the main factor when consumers choose a mobile provider, with competitive prices and offers ranking ahead of reliability and network coverage.
Better tariffs and promotions were also the most common reason given by those considering switching to another provider.
Poor mobile internet performance was the issue reported most frequently, followed by complete loss of service, poor call quality and dropped calls.
Consumers also reported calls being diverted straight to voicemail and delays in sending text messages, with these problems occurring more often among younger users.
The survey found a slight increase in the number of consumers who had reason to complain about their provider over the past year, although fewer than half submitted a formal complaint.
Satisfaction with the way providers handled complaints declined compared with last year, suggesting that customer service remains an area of concern despite generally positive views of mobile services overall.
Most consumers said they intend to remain with their current provider, though around one in five said they would consider changing company, with many citing concerns over service quality.
The survey was conducted in May by Pulse Market Research on behalf of the communication commission, based on responses from more than 1,200 individuals.
