A 56-year-old man remains in critical condition after a collision between an electric scooter and a motorcycle in Limassol, police said on Monday.

The crash happened at around 6pm yesterday on Chrysostomos Hadjipavlou street.

Police said the man, riding the scooter, collided with a motorcycle driven by a 35-year-old.

The impact sent the motorcycle skidding across the road before it came to rest under a parked bus.

Both riders were taken by ambulance to private hospitals in Limassol.

Doctors said the scooter rider suffered a skull fracture, a ruptured spleen and a collapsed lung, leaving him in a critical state.

The motorcyclist escaped with cuts and bruises.

He was breathalysed and tested for drugs, with both results negative.

Limassol police are continuing their investigations.
