The met department has issued a yellow weather warning for storms for inland areas, the north and the higher mountains on Wednesday.

According to the met department, isolated, strong storms with hail are expected to affect these areas.

Rainfall intensity is expected to locally exceed 35 millimetres per hour.

The warning is in effect until 6pm.
