Customs agents confiscated 215 cartons of heated cigarettes, 101 cartons of cigarettes and 68 packages of tobacco, upon which no tax had been paid, during an operation in Larnaca on Thursday evening.

Acting on a tipoff, the customs department searched a residence in Larnaca, buildings and the vehicle belonging to a 53-year old, who was arrested. 

He was later released after an out-of-court settlement of €19,000.
