A man was remanded on Wednesday for eight days in connection with a case concerning child grooming and possession of child porn.

The suspect was arrested after reports that a social media user extorted from a minor a photo of sexual content while also sending the minor porn files.

The suspect confessed to the electronic crime unit investigators of committing these offences and made a number of claims that are being investigated, police said.

Police found in his possession a mobile phone and a smart watch that were seized. During a search in his home, a laptop, another mobile phone, and tablet were located and seized. All items were expected to be submitted to forensic examinations.
