Police booked 147 people in the past 24 hours from 11,500 checks for Covid violations.

Police said 39 fines were handed out to people for not wearing a mask outside, six for not wearing a mask indoors and three for not wearing one in their private vehicles, while 48 people were fined for not seeking SMS permission from the government to leave their homes.

The remainder were curfew violations.
