Police booked 172 individuals for breaching coronavirus measures on Green Monday while carrying out 13,613 checks.

In Nicosia, 2,596 checks were conducted, in Limassol 2,903, in Larnaca 1,848, in Paphos 1,192, in Famagusta 2,239 and in Morphou 1,669.

Most of the offences were recorded in Limassol, where 98 persons were booked and fined. 26 were booked in Paphos, 20 in Larnaca, 14 in Nicosia, four in Morphou and three in Famagusta.

Traffic police conducted 1,134 inspections and booked five individuals.

Another 132 persons were checked at ports and airports but no violations were reported.
