The met office has issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy thunderstorms on Thursday morning and afternoon.

The warning covers the period between 10 am and 5 pm.

According to the alert, isolated thunderstorms are expected while the rain intensity may exceed 35mm per hour.

“Take extra precautions in exposed areas such as mountains, forests and plains. It is possible that the severe weather will disrupt outdoor activities,” the announcement said.
