A man in possession of drugs and pistol cartridges arrested by police in Larnaca on Sunday afternoon was remanded in police custody for five days by a court on Monday.

Members of the drug squad who searched the home of the 40-year-old man found 35 9mm pistol cartridges and 51 grammes of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The suspect is expected to appear in court to be remanded later on Monday.
