Two people in Paphos were arrested on Sunday night after they threatened to stab a woman living in their apartment block.

According to police, the couple, a man and a woman, knocked on the 51-year-old woman’s door at 11pm on Sunday. She told police they were drunk and were carrying a knife and a blade each.

She also told authorities the motive of the attack might be financial, as the couple was asking her for money she owed to their son.

The woman managed to call the police who arrived on the scene and arrested the couple. Officers also searched their apartment and found an assembled Flobert rifle, which was confiscated.
